The brief:

To film a birthday party for Barbie, the world's most famous doll & produce a video news release for worldwide distribution. The event was staged by Mattel at the American Embassy in London & was attended by youngsters sharing the same birthday.

VSI filmed the event, produced a short edit and distributed this along with a selection of rushes to broadcasters in the UK & around the world.

The content was made available by satellite transmission from London & was picked up by numerous broadcasters & agencies including Reuters who carried the video news release on their world feed.
